Licking Wounds

Galisteo, , 3025-05-13

When we hobbled back to our dropschip the captain informed us, that he had enemy flyers on his radar. But he was adept enough to evade them, and to land us in a hidden position north of our target area.

There the techs accomagning us started to work on our machines. The lost armor plates where mostly restored, only the damage to the internal structure was not as easily repaired. On the one hand we lacked the needed tools and materials, on the other hand the techs which were provided for us were not the best available.

On Galistea the political situation was tense, so we decided to look for a source of spare parts in the areas known to be not very pro-gouvernment.

I drove with my pickup truck to the next city, hod2 and hod3 accompagnied me. Unfortunately we did not find a source for spare parts that had the right political attitude.

Rumor had it that in Valigrod, some 250 km away, there was a community which supported a free Andurien, and sold equipment to mercenaries.

When we arrived there, McNish, the owner of the store we heard about, turned out to own a very big store and did not take weapon laws too serious.

For my Vindicator I found a complete arm and a PPC (which had a minor malfunction, causing one heat point more than normal).

hod2 had a lucky find, McNish had an old star league era LB-10x autocannon, which hod2 happily bought.

hod3 got enough spare parts to be able to geht his lost torso repaired.

On top of that we bought some more spare armor plates.

In the shop we met the soon-to-be hod6, a mercenary without a current contract. As we got along with him quite well we decided to hire him. With his Whitworth he tranported the stuff we had bought back to our dropship.
